The Hearts of Oak camp is buzzing following news of Asante Kotoko’s elimination from the FA Cup on Saturday.

The Phobians play Division One club Elmina Sharks on Sunday but are buoyed by Kotoko’s loss to Amidaus Professionals at the Round of 16 stage.

Hearts thus sees Kotoko’s shock exit as a unique opportunity to grab the only piece of silverware within their reach after the Kumasi-based side sealed this season’s league with four games to spare.

The Phobians want to win the FA Cup to set up a classical Super Cup game at the end of the current campaign.

“As shocking the news of Kotoko’s exit from the competition is, we believe it presents an opportunity for us,” midfielder Laryea Kingston told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“The fans will very much like to see another Heats-Kotoko match and the only way it can be realized is if we win the cup.

“Now more than ever we are determined to win this competition to perhaps make up for our inability to win the league and also to set up another clash with Kotoko.”

Hearts will however first need to negotiate their way through Sharks at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
