Kotoko fans angry at management over Bekoe's move to Chelsea

Several Asante Kotoko fans are up in arms over the club's inability to resign striker Eric Bekoe.

The 25-year-old was set to return to Kotoko following the termination of his contract with Egyptian club Petrojet.

However, disputes of contractual terms saw the former Ghana Premier League Goal King make a surprising move to Berekum Chelsea where he has signed a two-year deal.

Bekoe's transfer saga especially where it has ended has left majority of the Kotoko faithfuls livid with management for their failure to capture the ex Heart of Lions hitman.

Most of the sports programs on Wednesday especially in Kumasi has been dominated by Bekoe's move to Chelsea with the Kotoko fans vaguely displaying their fury.

Some have even suggested some management members of the Porcupine Warriors were negligent in their approach towards the Bekoe transfer saga hence his move to Chelsea.

"I am extremely disappointed by this news. I suspect some negligence on the part of some management members and this should be investigated,' a die hard Kotoko fan Dr. KOD said during the phone-in session on Hot FM's sports show.

Another staunch Kotoko fan, Madam Monica (popularly known as sister Monica) said: "We were so excited to hear Bekoe was coming back to Kotoko only to receive this disappointing news of his move to Berekum Chelsea. We are gutted by this development."

E.T Mewnsah (aka Braaam) also added: "Kotoko to me is more than life, and therefore I get sick whenever things don't go well with the club especially when we miss out on transfer targets."

Bekoe's move to Chelsea is seen by many as a direct replacement for Emmanuel Clottey who has been sold to Tunisian giants Esperence on the back of an impressive CAF Champions League campaign.
