Asante Kotoko fans turned up in their hundreds for the unveiling of the new Chief Executive Officer, Nana Yaw Amponsah on Friday.

The former Ghana Football Association (GFA) was confirmed as the club’s new CEO at a short ceremony in Kumasi.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, fans were not invited by the club. However, they were present at the Sports Hotel to endorse the appointment of the astute football administrator.

Amponsah brings a wealth of experience to bear on the job following his rapid rise in football administration in the West African nation.

He has been tasked with overseeing the country's most adored football club amid tight scrutiny in the next three years.

Mr Amponsah holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Political Science from the University of Ghana, Legon, and a Master's Degree in Sports Law and Practice from the Leicester DE Monort University, UK.

He was also given the opportunity to pursue a PhD in Sports Leadership at Concordia University in the United States of America (USA).

The Phar Rangers FC owner was a Licensed Players' Agent/Intermediary from 2008 to 2018.
