Asante Kotoko striker Albert Amoah has expressed confidence in the team's ability to challenge for the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League title despite a squad overhaul during the off-season.
Amoah, 22, scored the only goal in the Porcupine Warriors' 1-0 victory over Karela United in their opening match of the new campaign, held at the Naa Sherigaa Sports Complex in Nalerigu on Sunday.
In a post-match interview with the club’s media team, Amoah praised the chemistry within the team despite the recent additions, believing it sets them up for a successful title run.
“When you look at the team, it is like a team that has been together for a long time,” Amoah stated. “Looking at the quality that we have, seriously we are capable of winning the Ghana Premier League this season.”
Amoah is one of over 12 new signings made by Asante Kotoko during the off-season, following the departure of more than 20 players at the end of last season. He joined the club from Division One side Great Olympics.
The Porcupine Warriors will aim to build on their strong start as the season progresses.
