Asante Kotoko say they are unaware of any notification of Ahmed Toure’s move to Ivorian club Athletic FC Adjame.

The 24-year-old told GHANAsoccernet.com he has signed with the club reportedly owned by Ivorian FA boss Jacques Anouma.

The 2010/11 Ghana Premier League MVP went on to say he has notified the relevant bodies of his move which according to him was made possible by a strange Fifa law despite being under contract at Kotoko.

But the Public and Supporters Relation Manager of the champions, Listowell Yesu Bukarson says the development is news to him.

"No club nor the player has written to us seeking his (Toure’s) release," he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

"Kotoko have not applied for any ITC (International Transfer Certificate) for him to go anywhere.

"Much as we are concerned, he is contractually committed to Kotoko until otherwise."

Bukarson however added Kotoko’s world does not revolve around just one player and that no one is indispensable.

"The point must be made that our focus is not on any one individual player and that Toure should not be seen as bigger than the club," he stressed.

Toure remains in the Ivory Coast despite the return of the Kotoko first team to pre-season training a fortnight ago.

There is currently an ongoing dispute over his contract expiration date between the club and the player.
