Midfielder Richard Yeboah will miss Asante Kotoko’s opening defence of the Premier League title through injury.

Yeboah who emerged from Kotoko’s reserve team was initially feared to have suffered a broken leg.

But further tests proved the injury was mild and that he will be out for eight weeks.

This news had left Yeboah gutted ut says he will be offering all the support he can give to the team until his return.

“I hurt myself in action but we realized after the scan that the injury was not that serious,” he told Kumasi-based Angel FM.

“Dr Boateng (team doctor) has told me I will be out for eight weeks.

“I am gutted by this news but I will be offering my unflinching support to the team in order to retain the Premier League title.”

Kotoko open their season against FA Cup holders New Edubiase in the Super Cup clash on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
