Kotoko players play amongst themselves following cancellation of Akosombo friendly

Asante Kotoko players played amongst themselves after their scheduled pre-season friendly against an unnamed lower-tier side in Akosombo was cancelled.

The match scheduled for Saturday did not happen for reasons yet to be known.

However, coach Maxwell Konadu decided to organised an in-house friendly to keep the players in good shape.

He divided the team into two groups - Team A and Team B. A won the match 4-3 with goals from Osman Ibrahim (brace) and  William Opoku Mensah and Maxwell Baakoh.

Team B got their goals from Samuel Mensah, Mudasiru Seidu and Mubarik Yussif, who scored an own goal.

Felix Annan (C)/ Kwame Baah, Christopher Nettey, Imoro Ibrahim, Mubarik Yussif, Wahab Adams, Kwame Adom Frimpong, Abdul Latif Anabila, Maxwell Baakoh, Godfred Asiamah, William Opoku Mensah, Osman Ibrahim/ Evans Adomako

Team B

Razark Abalora, Samuel Frimpong, Patrick Asmah, Ismail Abdul Ganiu, Habib Mohammed, Emmanuel Sarkodie, Mudasiru Salifu, Emmanuel Kayekeh, Naby Keita, Emmanuel Gyamfi (C), Kwame Poku

Kotoko have been preparing for the past three weeks ahead of the season and have been camping in Eastern Region.

The new season will start next month.
