Asante Kotoko are in a buoyant mood ahead of the President's Cup match against Berekum Chelsea on Sunday after posting a 3-1 win over second tier club Pure Joy.

Goals from Alhassan Bukari and a brace from midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei sealed the victory for the Premier League champions in the game played at the Wesley College Park on Thursday.

The team will now hold their final training session on Friday afternoon before traveling to Accra on Saturday ahead of the crunch tie the following day.

And the club’s spokesman Listowell Yesu Bukarson tells GHANAsoccernet.com the team is poised to avenging the defeat suffered at the hands of the Blues in the same competition last year.

“We are committed to respecting the Presidency and by extension honor Ghanians by playing this game on Sunday,” he said.

“We hold our last training session this afternoon (Friday) at 3pm and travel to Accra tomorrow (Saturday) for the must win match to avenge last year's defeat.”
