Kotoko reportedly reach agreement to re-sign Karela United midfielder Umar Bashiru

Asante Kotoko are said to have reached an agreement to sign highly-rated Karela United midfielder Umar Bashiru ahead of new season.

The midfielder, who had a fantastic season with Karela United in 2021/22, is said to have agreed to rejoin Kotoko on a two-year contract.

The signing will be announced in the coming days, according to reports.

Bashiru, who joined Kotoko from WAFA in 2018, is expected to return to the club for a second stint.

The club terminated the 25-year-old contract's after determining him to be surplus to requirements.

Since joining Karela United in 2020, the midfielder has established himself as an important part of the club's machinery.

He had a solid season last year, scoring 14 goals and providing four assists in 31 games.
