Asante Kotoko have rubbished media reports announcing a meeting between embattled striker Ahmed Toure and the life patron of the club.

The 24-year-old who his seen a massive downward turn in his club fortunes was reportedly expected to meet with the Asantehene Otumfour Osei-Tutu II to help iron out differences with the club.

The 2011 Premier League's MVP fell out with the club's management and technical team after he was fined and dumped into the reserves for overstaying a compassionate leave last term.

He has since had limited first team opportunities - fuelling a perception he is ready to walk out on the Kumasi-based club.

This situation had given rise to a plethora of media reports saying the Ivorian born will be given audience by the Otumfour in an attempt to fix the impasse but the club says these reports are palpably false and adds the issue is being over-hyped.

"The Asantehene and life patron of our club is too busy with pragmatic development plans for the Asante Kingdom in particular and Ghana in general to  make time only to meet a single player over no issue at all," Kotoko's spokesman Listowell Yesu Bukarson told GHANAsoccetnet.com.

"The King has a lot of confidence in the Dr K.K Sarpong led Boad and management to side step him to meet Ahmed Toure.

"In any case, why are the media reporting as though there are serious issues between Kotoko and Ahmed Toure?

"The player raised issues, Dr Sarpong and some management members met him at the club's secretariat to fix whatever issues he had only to wake up days laterto this made up story."
