Ghanaian champions Asante Kotoko have sold midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei (DNA) to TP Mazembe, MTNFootball.com understands.

Mazembe, four-time African champions, are said to have paid US$ 150,000 for the services of last season's Ghana Premier League Most Valuable Player.

The offensive midfielder-cum-winger will also earn not less than US$ 10,000 a month.

The transfer of the club's most experienced player, who has been influential in their recent successes, is to help Kotoko offset some of its debt which runs into millions of dollars.

"I can confidently say that Nii Adjei is on his way out of Kotoko," Kotoko spokesperson Listowell Bukarson said.

Adjei spent close to eight seasons at Kotoko and rose to become one of their key players.

He played in Sunday's 2-0 win over New Edubiase United in the Ghana Super Cup.

Kotoko went deep into the transfer market to sign several top player and the departure of DNA is unlikely to affect their performance.
