Asante Kotoko striker Ahmed Toure has left the country for his native Ivory Coast to visit his mother who is ill.

The 24-year-old has been given permission by head coach Maxwell Konadu to leave camp.

Kotoko will have to continue preparation ahead of the resumption of the league without their leading scorer.

Toure was in the news before the league break after the local media speculated he failed a medical at Egyptian side Al Masry.

The club denied those reports and threatened to sue any media organization who continue to report about the player's health.
