The Greater Accra Regional Circles Council have given a detailed outline of their plans to build a modern hostel facility for Asante Kotoko.

The Greater Accra supporter wing of the reigning Premier League champions intend constructing this facility to ease the accommodation cost on management whenever the team is in the southern sector of Ghana.

The planned 30 self-contained fully air-conditioned  room facility will also harbour modern additives such as a gymnasium, a conference room, office space, a swimming pool and a state of the art Internet cafe.

Chairman of the GARCC Emmanuel Boamah disclosed at a press soirée on Wednesday of a secured two acre (8 plots) land around Amassaman earmarked for the construction.

The said location costs Ghc 60,000 - an amount the GARCC looks to raise in order to permanently secure the land with upcoming fund raising events.

"In coming to office, I made a pledge to help get the club a modern hostel facility and this is what I intend to carry out," Boamah said.

"Fortunately we have managed to speak to some land owners and we have secured in principle a land for the construction of the hostel.

"However we need to raise funds in order to buy the land and develop it into the modern hostel.

"Therefore we will be calling upon our supporters and other football loving fans and philanthropists to contribute towards making this dream a reality."

The GARCC will be holding a fund raising ball at the Teachers Hall on October 13 to kickstart a chain of events geared towards raising the funds for the construction.

The supporter wing will also hold periodic raffle draw as another way of raising the funds while rewarding participants.

A special bank account will also be opened both in Ghana and in abroad for all supporters of the club and well washers to make their financial contribution towards the project.
