Asante Kotoko are determined to offer maximum support to new Black Stars coach Akwasi Appiah including given off their coach Maxwell Konadu.

The ex Ghana striker has been fingered by Appiah as his preferred candidate for the assistant coaching job despite being under contract with the Premier League giants.

Reported discussions are said to be ongoing between the Ghana FA and Kotoko to have Konadu reunite with his former national teammate at the Black Stars.

It was the same combination that fetched Ghana a historic gold medal at the 2011 All Africa Games at the U-23 level.

The record Premier League holders are reported to be reluctant to release Konadu who just joined from All Stars at the beginning of the current campaign.

But comments made by the club's special consultant on FA and International Relations  Kwame Baah-Nuakoh on Kumasi-based Angel FM suggests Kotoko is prepared to let go one of their most priced assets as contribution of their support to a legend of their club, Akwasi Appiah.

"Akwasi Appiah is first and foremost a Ghanaian and therefore a coach of all Ghanaians," he said.

"We are however proud to have a legend of our club occupying Ghana's top coaching post. He had Kotoko blood running through him.

"And we will do absolutely everything in support of Akwasi Appiah to ensure he succeeds."
