Orlando Wellington is in line to be appointed as the new assistant coach of Asante Kotoko, the local  media are reporting.

The Ghanaian Champions are believed to have held discussions with the former Ghana Under-20 coach over the possibility of deputizing for head trainer Mas-aud Didi Dramani.

Wellignton, who resigned his Black Satellites post over growing pressure from fans following his failure to build a crack side for the qualifiers to the 2013 African Youth Championship, will replace Sarfo Castro.

Castro has quit the Kumasi-based club after he was named the substantive coach of Heart of Lions.

The Porcupine Warriors want to fotify their technical bench ahead of their title defence and their participation in next year’s Caf Champions League and have identified the experienced ex-Berekum Chelsea trainer as the ideal man to partner the national Under-17 female coach.

The local giants won the Ghana Premier League last season after a sublime run.
