Asante Kotoko will be making an off-season bid for Sewe Sports striker Mandela Ocansey according to reports in the local press.

The Ghanaian has emerged one of the stars of the Ivorian club’s surge into the group stage of this season’s CAF Champions League.

Ocansey who trained alongside Ghana internationals; Harrison Afful and Awal Mohammed during his time at Fetteh Feyenoord is now stirring interests in the Ghana Premier League champions.

Kotoko have made their striking department a priority area for improvement at the end current campaign and are now ready to make a bid for the 23-year-old.

“We have been monitoring Ocansey for so long and he is a fantastic player who can help us in our quest for laurels in the league and also Africa,” an anonymous Kotoko management member was quoted by the 90 Minutes newspaper.

“Ocansey is a talented young guy coming up and he has already hit the ground running. We are ready to make a bid for him.”

Ocansey spent four seasons at ASFA Yennega during which period he won the Burkina Faso top flight with Les Asfasiens.

He later moved to Tunisian club CS Sfaxien on loan before joining Sewe Sports in 2012.
