Kotoko to play in 2012 President Cup

Yet-to-be installed Ghana Premier League champions Asante Kotoko have been to play in the 2012 President Cup on July 1.

Organizers, Ghana League Clubs Association, are yet to name an opponent for the Kumasi-based side for the match to be played in Accra.

Kotoko were selected for this year's commemorative match because of their high performance this term.

Last year, Kotoko played a controversial match with then champions Berekum Chelsea at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Porcupine Warriors felt they were handed a raw deal by referee Mohammed Awal who ordered two of their spot-kicks to be retaken during penalty shoot-outs.

Kotoko boycotted the medal presentation ceremony after losing 8-7 on penalties after both sides tied 2-2 after extra-time.
