Asante Kotoko will battle second-tier Pure Joy in a friendly game on Thursday in Kumasi as the club shape up ahead of this weekend's President Cup.

The Premier League Champions will engage Berekum Chelsea in a repeat of last year’s finals at the Accra Sports stadium.

The game could be the last match for outgoing coach Maxwell Konadu who is expected to continue his duties as Black Stars assistant coach in full capacity.

The Porcupine Warriors are favourite to add another piece of silverware to their trophy cabinet after they lost last year’s finals against the Blues under controversial circumstances.

Kotoko subsequently boycotted the medal presentation which had Vice President John Dramani Mahama in attendance.

This year's competition could see President John Evans Atta Mills in attendance after he returned from a routine medical check up in the US.
