Asante Kotoko have been invited to play a combined team of Young Africans and Simba to mark Tanzania's 50th Independence Day anniversary on December 9.

The club is thus preparing an official request to the Ghana FA to have their week 11 fixture against Berekum Chelsea at the Baba Yara Stadium on December 11 postponed.

"I can confirm that we have received an invitation to play against a combined team of Young Africans and Simba to mark the independence day of Tanzania," Kotoko's Public and Supporters Relation Manager Listowell Bukarson told GHANAsoccernet.com.

"We will soon be making a formal request to the Ghana FA for the postponement of our week 11 fixture against Chelsea and we are very confident that our requested will be granted."

The club as part of plans to encourage their supporters will be holding a raffle to select one supporter to travel with the team for the monumental game.

It will be recalled that similar innovation was employed to select a lucky female supporter who traveled with the team for Kotoko's pre-season tour of Serbia.

The playing body, its technical team and selected members of management and the board are expected to depart Ghana on December 7 for the game Dar es Salaam on December 9.
