Ghana's football giants Asante Kotoko are keen on using the presence of their female fans revealingly dressed to attack fans back to their matches.

There was a lot of excitement and merrymaking at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium last Sunday, when football fans were treated to colourful sights from a bevy of tightly dressed lady supporters of the Kumasi-based club.

The club and the local league has seen a drop in number because of their unimpressive results and play as well as the attack on the league because of the  influx of live matches from European leagues.

The ladies provided the fans with more to cheer about, aside the football match itself.

The move by the young women, who call themselves “Fabu Ladies”, is an innovative way of attracting more male supporters to Kotoko’s home matches.

The spokesperson for the group, Tina Fosuhemaa, told The Chronicle in an interview last Sunday, that their move was not to encourage obscenity, but only to add colour to the beautiful game of football.

She promised even more excitement packages when the two galmouros teams, Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, lock horns in Kumasi later this year.

On the match itself, though the presence of the ladies attracted a sizeable crowd to the stadium, they could not help Kotoko find its once indomitable spirit at the Baba Yara Stadium, as they lost to a well-drilled Kessben F.C side, by one goal to nil.

Kessben F.C, which recently saw an improvement in their financial fortunes with the take over by Medeama F.C, looked an improved side, and matched Kotoko in all aspects of the game.

Kotoko are thinking of innovative of of reviving the club since K K Sarpong took over as board chairman as the two-time African Champions have struggled to establish their credential in recent times.
