Asante Kotoko’s finances are in a healthy state despite making numerous big name signings this off-season, the club’s Board Member Jerry Asare has assured.

The Premier League champions have splashed the cash to bring in Ransford Osei, Rashid Sumaila, Seidu Bancey, Smallboy Cobbah, Kwabena Edusei, Godfred Asante just to name a few ahead of their title defence this term.

And with hints of many more signings to come, concerns over the club’s financial state has heightened with no clear source of revenue big enough to offset the high cost of the acquisitions made.

But Asare insists Kotoko is spending within its remit and therefore there is no need for alarm.

“You agree with me that Kotoko has been so attractive with the able leadership of Dr. K.K Sarpong (club chairman) we have got a lot of sponsors,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“With these sponsorships and the monies coming in from the GFA with the league sponsorship and other things we are able to get the money necessary to bring in these fine players.”

Kotoko also returns to the Caf Champions League this season and are bent on making a significant impact.
