Asante Kotoko have confirmed new boy Michael Helegbe will not feature in Sunday’s league clash against his former side Liberty Professionals.

The ex-Liberty captain joined the Porcupine Warriors during the January transfer window on a two year-deal.

But his debut has been delayed due to uncompleted paperwork to enable him to be registered for the second half of the league.

"Helegbe is not available to play this Sunday due to technicalities," Kotoko spokesperson Listowell Yesu Burkason confirmed.

"We haven't finished with some paperwork with Liberty and when that is sorted out, he can feature

"We're hoping to finish the details so he can be involved in our quest to win the league at some points before the season is over.

"He is an important player to the club and we believe we finish the documentation, fans will see his contribution to the club."

The former Ghana Under-23 captain was touted as the man to draw the crowd to the Baba Yara Stadium as he faces his former club.
