Kotoko's interest had no effect on me - Mahatma Otoo

Hearts of Oak striker Mahatma Otoo insists the official interest expressed by Asante Kotoko did not affect him in the Super Clash.

The Ghana Premier League champions have served notice of their intention to open talks with the Ghana international.

Otoo is out of contract with the Phobians at the end of the season.

He is empowered by the FIFA rules regarding player transfers to negotiate a new deal with any club of his choice.

There were fears Kotoko’s expressed interest will rattle the Hearts of Oak captain ahead of the Super Clash.

But the 21-year-old was adamant it had no effect to his game in the 1-1 draw against Kotoko on Sunday.

“I am a professional and I know these things happen in football and are meant to happen,” he said.

“So I just put that issue behind me and came into the game and I played my normal football so I think that it is part of the game.”

Otoo is also being tracked by Sunderland and Mamelodi Sundowns.
