Samuel Osei-Kuffour agrees with suggestions to have Berekum Chelsea change their name to reflect a more Ghanaian identity.

The defending Ghana Premier League Champions shot into the limelight last weekend with a 5-0 thrashing of Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca in the CAF Champions League.

But many including ex Ghana FA boss Alhaji MND Jawula believe the current name 'Chelsea' is not reflective of the Ghanaian identity especially with the team flying high in African continental competition and Kuffour agrees.

"I honestly agree with Alhaji Jawula with his suggestion to Berekum Chelsea to change their name," Kuffour said during SuperSports weekly football show Soccer Africa.

"They (Berekum Chelsea) have no link with the English Chelsea.

"It is not like Cape Town Ajax which is partly owned by the Ajax in Holland so I don't see why they keep the name. I think they should change."

Berekum Chelsea travels to Casablanca for the return leg with a healthy 5-0 lead next weekend.
