The pitch at the Kumasi Sports Stadium has been declared ready to host next week's 2014 World Cup qualifier between Ghana and Sudan.

The pitch was closed down for one month after worries over its state for the crucial match following the dry harmattan season which affected the pitch.

Green Grass Technology (GGT), the country's leading experts in pitch maintenance, says the field is now ready for the match after they worked on the greenness of the grass for four weeks.

“We closed the pitch down for a month to prepare for the Black Stars match. We had a meeting and now everyone can see that the pitch is in perfect condition,” Frank Boahene, CEO of  Green Grass Technology said.

“I have spoken with Kwasi Appiah regarding the pitch and I will be speaking to some of the senior players when they arrive.

"Since we are in harmattan, they should find the pitch easy to play on since it is winter in Europe."

The Black Stars will arrive in Kumasi on Wednesday to continue their preparation for the match.

They will train on the pitch on Thursday as they will use the KNUST training ground for Wednesday evening's training session.
