Kumordzie out for one month, refuses to blame Kingston for injury

Ghana midfielder Bernard Kumordzi has been ruled out of action for one month because of an ankle injury and is refusing to blame Laryea Kingston for the setback.

The Greece-based enforcer suffered the injury while training with the Ghana World Cup team in Paris last week.

The injury he suffered conspired for him to be dropped from the World Cup following a tackle-from-behind in training.

While fans of the player have been accusing Laryea Kingston for ending his World Cup dreams, Kumordzi insists injuries are part of the game.

"I will not blame anybody for my injury because we were training and the injury happened," Kumordzi said.

"We were all fighting to represent our country and I must insist it was not intentional.

"Injuries happen everywhere - during matches and in training - so we have to concentrate on recovering."

Kumordzie was expected to be dropped from the intensely competitive Ghana star-studded Black Stars midfield.

He was given a golden handshake of US$5,000 after being excluded from the final list.
