Kwabebibirem United wins protest against Okwahu United in Eastern Regional Football Association DC ruling

Ghanaian lower-tier side Okwahu United have lost their  protest against Kwaebibirem United FC in the ruling announced by the Eastern Regional Football Association Discplinary Committee.

The two teams faced off in a Middle League game at the Theatre of Dreams, Dawu as the game ended abruptly after the fans stormed the pitch.

Referee Emmanuel Kofi Agbodavi awarded Kwaebibirem United a penalty which resulted to the chaos.

Okwahu United sent a protest to the DC for the points to be awarded to them after the game ended abruptly.

However their protest has been dismissed by the EFRA Disciplinary Committee and the verdict awarded to their opponents.

The club has also being fined Ghc 1,000.

In the ruling from the ERFA DC, the protest by Okwahu United FC against Kwaebibirem United F.C is disputed whilst Kwaebibirem United F.C protest against Okwahu United was upheld.

According to the DC, Okwahu United initiated steps for the match to be forfeited thus they have been declared losers of the game.

The DC declared that Okwahu United as losers will lose three points and three goals in accordance with Article 33(1)(b) of the Regulations for forfeiting the match.
