Kwabena Yeboah rejects Ghana FA appointment

Ace sports journalist Kwabena Yeboah has declined an appointment to serve on the reconstituted Premier League Board of the Ghana Football Association.

The renowned sports writer was among ten persons listed by Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi to re-brand to top flight league.

But Yeboah has expressed disappointment over the way officials included him without seeking his consent.

"I didn't think I am ready to serve on the PLB, " he told Kumasi-based Angel FM

"I believe modern trend of administration refines that if you want to appoint somebody it's important that you inform the person and seek his or her consent."

He added that: "It's crucial to find out whether he or she has the time and capacity. Nothing of the sort was done.

"Let me thank them who have confidence in me. I appreciate them."

Yeboah owns the Africa Sports Newspaper and hosts Sports Highlights on Ghana Television.

Kwabas, this is neither cheap talk nor shunning away from national responsibility. It is sheer 'unculturedness'. How can you appoint someone without his knowledge? Look at the FM sports presenters appointments without informing them and u think this is right in 21st century? com on please. Thanks Mr. Writer for setting the records straight. I am with u.

you are right Mr Kwabena Yeboah, how can you appoint somebody without informing him? that is uncivilized, well Kwesi Nyantakyi has too much confidence that Kwabena will agree to do the job,but at list they should contact him before, i hope they were going to learn from their mistake.

l think kwabena is an expect in both field and football administration but unfortunately he was not consulted to seek his opinion as to whether he will sacrifice for his nation ghana. l believe he doesn't want to associate himself with the problems in PLB,the right thing must always be done first before appointing him.

It's a good decision by Mr Kwabena. How can you play and also refree in a game?Kwabena cannot be on the commitee and at the same time a journalist. In this vain he can criticise contructively as a journalist without any intimadation.Mr Kwabena you've really indicated that you are a professional and I respect you for intelligence.

Writer I side with you. Your job is to comment to get people on their toes. Do not accept any post. Is a ploy to tarnish your hard-won dignity.
