Kwarasey misses Black Stars training, illness forced him out

Ghana's first choice goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey was excused from the Black Stars training on Tuesday following a bout of flu.

The shot-stopper has been struggling with the flu since the Black Stars arrived in South Africa on Sunday.

Ghana are having their training camp in Johannesburg ahead of Saturday's 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zambia in Ndola.

Black Stars team doctor, Dr. Adam Baba says Kwarasey was rested as a precautionary measure.

"This is a vitally important game for us and we want to get all of our players available. So Adam's absence was just to give him more rest," said Dr. Adam Baba.

"It is nothing serious that will keep him out of the game but we will keep monitoring him and see how he progresses.

"I am sure he will be available for the game."

Ghana will end their training camp in Johannesburg on Wednesday before departing for Zambia the following day.
