Kwesi Appiah can handle Black Stars egos- Sam Arday

Experienced Ghanaian coach Sam Arday says new Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah is capable of handling the egos of his players.

The Ghana FA appointed the soft-spoken coach on Monday after acting on interim basis for three weeks.

There are believes that Appiah might not be able stamp his authority in the dressing room looking at his demeanor.

But Arday, who coached Appiah at Asante Kotoko, in the early 90s says the former Black Stars captain be a disciplinarian.

"When I was coach at Kotoko, Appiah played under me and despite his gentility, he is very tough," Arday told Accra-based Happy FM.

The 1992 Olympic Games bronze medalist also commended the Football Association for appointing an indigenous Ghanaian coach.

"It's been long overdue and a big triumph for local coach. I am very excited for this and the GFA must be commended for their decision to name him a permanent coach."
