Ghana boss Kwesi Appiah faces a major selection dilemma ahead of the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Lesotho on Friday June 1.

Although Appiah’s starting line-up can largely be predicted aside from two or three positions, the Black Stars bench for the showpiece at the Baba Yara stadium remains open to doubt.

With both Daniel Opare and Samuel Inkoom showing remarkable improvement in their form at training these past few days, the Black Stars tactician faces a hard decision in whom to start on the right-full back position.

Reports emerging claim coach Appiah could gamble by playing both men with Inkoom likely to be deployed as a right winger.

With Isaac Vorsah suspended for the tie against the Crocodiles, Jerry Akaminko and Ukraine-based Daniel Addo will fight for a place to partner John Boye at the heart of defence.

The ex-international is ready to take a massive gamble again and select Berekum Chelsea’s Richard Kissi Boateng ahead of Lee Addy for the left full-back position.

Late arrival Harrison Afful could also be considered for the role.

Sulley Muntari, Kwadwo Asamoah, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, Anthony Annan and Derek Boateng are also in the reckoning to add further experience to the Black Stars ranks with Dominic Adiyiah  likely to partner Jordan Ayew in attack.

Coach Appiah says he is determined to pick a strong enough line-up for the game at the Baba Yara stadium.

“I do not think it is fair for anyone to suggest that I chose the local boys because I feared a huge public outcry if I dropped them,” Appiah said

“I believe they have worked hard and deserve their places in the team, period.

“For me it’s all about who is playing well and who can convince me with his output in training even though other factors are also taken into consideration.

“I am not sure there is an issue of selection problem. The best players will be picked for the game,”
