Kwesi Appiah refuses to rule out coaching Black Stars again

Former Black Stars head coach, Kwesi Appiah, has failed to rule out coaching the Ghana national team again, when the opportunity comes.

The 59-year-old has been coach of Ghana on two occasions from 2012 to 2014 and from 2017 to 2020.

Following Ghana’s abysmal showing at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, the Ghana Football Association parted ways with Kwesi Appiah.

However, he was reappointed in April 2017 to replace Avram Grant after the Black Stars finished 4th at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

The Ghana Football Association decided not to renew Appiah's contract following a disappointing round of 16 exit at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

"This is coaching and you don’t rule out any opportunity but it will depend on the conditions," he told Asempa FM.

More so, Appiah claims he doesn't regret handling the Black Stars.

"I think it was an opportunity to coach the Black Stars because we have many coaches in the country and for you to coach the Black Stars, it is a big opportunity.

"There were issues but I have no regrets."
