Hearts of Oak managed a slim 1-0 win over second-tier side Sporting Mirren in a training game at the ATTC Park on Thursday.

Influential midfielder Laryea Kingston scored a classy goal in the 20th minute to seal the win for the 20-time Ghanaian champions.

Assistant coach Shaibu Tanko, who took charge of the friendly, used the game to improve cohesion between new acquisitions and the old faces.

New striker James Abban partnered Mahatma Otoo upfront while Laryea Kingston had a fine time with Isaac Ofori in midfield.

However, duo Kofi Abanga and Godwin Quarshiga were unused in the game.

A second batch of players which included Douglas Nkrumah, striker Edward Afum and Yahaya Abdul Ganiyu defeated Yaw Preko's Bado FC 2-0.

Hearts are lying third on the Glo Premier League table.
