Lawrence Ati-Zigi gets chance to prove he can be Ghana number one

FC St. Gallen goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi has been given the opportunity to prove he can Ghana's number one.

Ati-Zigi has been handed a starting role as the Black Stars take on Mali in an international friendly on Friday in Turkey.

He is replacing first choice Richard Ofori in the goal posts after the latter couldn't join the Ghana team due to paperwork.

Ati-Zigi is expected to prove his worth against the Malien Eagles at the Emir Hotel Sports Complex as he eyes the Black Stars number one position.

The goalkeeper is making a return to Ghana after the 2019 AFCON tournament in Egypt where he was an unused member of the squad.

The former Ghana U20 and U23 shot stopper has been in good form for St. Gallen this season having kept in four matches in all competitions.
