Former Ghana U17 star Lawrence Awuley Quaye Jnr and Quincy Owusu-Abeyie have been named among the worst signings for Spanish side Malaga since its renaming in 1994.

Quaye was one of the star performers for Ghana at the 1997 FIFA U17 World Cup in Egypt where the Black Starlets won silver.

Afterwards, he was signed by then Spanish second-tier side Club Deportivo Ourense where he played for two seasons before joining Malaga in

But it was such an ill-fated spell for the former Great Olympics player who managed just two appearances.

He is joined that list by Quincy Owusu-Abeyie, Pablo Pérez (who did not fit in La Rosaleda but now General captain at Argentine side Boca Juniors).

Other failed signings are Brazilian Joaquín Peiró who was recommended by Rivaldo, Kuwait national team captain Al Mutawa.

Ivorian Bobley Anderson was signed for millions of euros but did not fit in.
