Lazio’s appeal rejected: Sarri still suspended for two games

The FIGC has rejected Lazio’s appeal to reduce Maurizio Sarri’s ban after the sending off against Milan.

Sarri was not involved in the 2-2 draw with Cagliari last weekend and must sit out against Torino on Thursday, as the appeal for his two-game ban has been rejected.

The coach was sent off after his reaction to Milan winger Alexis Saelemaekers’ showboating in the defeat to Milan, but sent a complaint to the FIGC.

“The First Section of the National Sports Court chaired by Carmine Volpe rejected Lazio’s complaint against the two-game disqualification sanction imposed by the Sports Judge on Maurizio Sarri after the sending off in Milan vs. Lazio,” the FIGC said in a statement.

Sarri, however, will be back in the dugout for the Derby della Capitale this weekend, when Lazio host Roma at the Olimpico in the sixth round of fixtures.
