League title almost but not yet won - Konadu

Asante Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu insists the title race is not yet won despite extending their lead at the top of the Premier League.

Kotoko beat All Stars 2-0 over the weekend to open a nine-point gap over rivals Hearts of Oak and many believe the league title is now certainly headed for Kumasi.

But the ex Ghana striker in admitting his side looks set to win their first league title in over four years say it is far from over with eleven matches to go.

“We still cannot talk about the league title now but we are clearly favourites to win,” he said.

“We are focused on improving our team and winning so that we end up as champions at the end of the season.”

The resolve of the in-form Kotoko team will really be put to test with their next two fixtures away from home against defending champions Berekum Chelsea and a resurgent Ebusua Dwarfs.
