Legend attacks Ajax coach over favouritism, believes Kudus is better than Tadic
Kudus is better at No 10 than Tadic - says Theo Janssen

Ajax legend Theo Janssen has launched a scathing attack at the Dutch club's coach Alfred Schreuder implying favouritism is behind the decision to play Dusan Tadic ahead of the talented Mohammed Kudus.

The former Dutch international believes the Ghanaian youngster has been dropped to the bench because the coach is trying to protect one of the senior figures in the dressing room who is the Serbian midfielder.

Janssen, who is now a television pundit in Holland, says Ajax can only thrive if they play Kudus at the No 10 position, claiming Tadic has been unimpressive while Kudus excels when he comes on as a substitute.

The Ajax coach told Kudus in three meetings that he is not part of his starting XI and has craftily shifted the Ghanaian to be back up at the No.7 or No.9 positions which are not his favourite positions.

Many believe this tactic is designed to protect Tadic by keeping Kudus at arm's length at the No 10 position which has now been condemned by renowned experts.

"And then Ajax plays Tadic as the No 10. And why is that? - the former Dutch international said while questioning the selection of the Ajax coach Schreuder following Sunday's match against Sparta Rotterdam.

"They have to find a place because the important players have to keep playing.

"I think Kudus is a much better player than Tadic in the long run at the No 10 position. I would already be playing Kudus by now.

"Against PSV and in the Champions League, you can't be playing Tadic at No 10. I'm convinced of that."

The Ghanaian youngster is unhappy about being left on the bench when he has proven to be the best player at the club in the playmaker position.

Kudus is demanding a loan move to a club that would allow him to play regularly to continue to hone his career with the 2022 World Cup looming.

English side Everton and Wolves are interested while Club Brugge and German side Borussia Moenchengladbach have also expressed interest in signing the Ghanaian on loan.

Kudus' performances as a substitute for Ajax have been overly impressive as he has gained rave reviews from the media and supporters of the club.

This comes after an impressive pre-season where he was played out of position yet he managed to score four goals in four matches as a midfielder or striker.

The Ghanaian star has told the coach of Ajax to release him on loan to allow him to play regularly but Schreuder claims he won't allow the youngster to leave.

Despite this Kudus has been committed to Ajax insisting he will play in any position to help the club but wants a move on loan to help him to continue to build his young career.
