Legon Cities coach Bashiru Hayford was impressed with the performance of his players despite losing on his debut for the club.

The Royals lost by a lone goal to Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium in this match day five fixture of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League.

Osman Ibrahim goal in the 10th minute also ended Asante Kotoko's winless run in the ongoing campaign.

Legon Cities created lot of chances but were unable to convert them as forward Raphael Ocloo was wasteful in the game.

He was replaced by Ghana's all-time leading top scorer  Asamoah Gyan in the second half.

Gyan was contained by the Kotoko defenders throughout the game.

According to Bashiru Hayford, the team must keep working to improve upon their scoring problem.

"We were in the game right from the start to the end and we created many chances", Bashiru Hayford said after the game.

"I am very impressed with the performance of my players. If we continue to play like we did today I am sure we shall overcome the challenges we are facing currently

"The team is a good side, we just need work and work, scoring is a problem at the moment and that needs to change", he added.

Legon Cities travel to Cape Coast to face Ebusua Dwarfs on match day six.

The team currently lies 14th on the league log with three points after five matches played this season.
