Legon Cities new signing Asamoah Gyan plays down title chances

Legendary Ghana forward Asamoah Gyan has watered down chances of his new side Legon Cities winning the Ghana Premier League despite his arrival.

The neveau rich club broke the bank to sign Ghana's all time leading scorer ahead of the new campaign.

The Accra based outfit have also made some marquee signings in the transfer window, including the acquisition of former Kotoko play maker Baba Mahama and ex-Ebusua Dwarfs forward Nicholas Gyan.

Despite the big name signing, Gyan insists it will take a bit of time to call Legon Cities title contenders.

"Saying you can challenge for the league is very easy," he said.

"You can purchase all the best players in the world but without knowing what you like, we cannot be successful.

“We have to play some matches before we will know whether we can win the league or not.

"The most important thing is that management are doing their best because they’ve signed players they think can help the progress of the team."
