Premier League leaders Leicester City are determined to land Sampdoria full-back Pedro Pereira, although they may have to break their club’s record transfer fee to seal the deal.
The Portuguese has impressed since his September debut and gone on to become a regular in Vincenzo Montella’s side.
Tuttosport report that Claudio Ranieri is resolute that Pereira should be his side’s first signing in January, and is willing to splash up to €11 million to ensure a deal is completed.
Despite having only arrived from Benfica in the summer, the Ligurian side are prepared to cash in on the youngster, with the Foxes the favourite side to sign him at this stage.
That would represent a considerable profit on the player for Sampdoria, who brought him in for a fee of around €190,000 just seven months ago.
