Real Madrid interested in Fofana

After Wesley Fofana’s breakthrough campaign at Leicester City, the Foxes centreback has allegedly caught the attention of Real Madrid. The Foxes value their young talent at 80 million euros, twice what they paid Saint Etienne just last summer, as per French outlet GFFN.

However, the 20 year old is unlikely to be going anywhere this summer, with Real Madrid cash-strapped and seemingly unwilling to invest in another defender this summer, despite losing both Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos already since the end of the season.

Maddison on the move?

One player that could be leaving the King Power stadium this summer, however, is James Maddison. The 24 year old Englishman has been on the radar of Arsenal this summer, although no bid had been forthcoming.

However, as per Chief Arsenal writer for Football.London Chris Wheatley, the Gunners have made their opening move to bring Maddison to the Emirates Stadium.

Leicester are thought to be holding out for 60 million pounds, although player exchanges have also been floated. To make matters worse for Leicester fans, Wheatley reports that another London club have also made contact with the Foxes over a potential move.

Although negotiations remains “very slow”, Wheatley reports that “the player is keen on a move to north London”, which will dampen hopes of Leicester fans keeping him.

George Hirst joins Portsmouth

In the youth department, striker George Hirst has joined Portsmouth on a season-long loan.

Hirst, now 22, is coming off the back of a disappointing season in the Championship, where he failed to score in 31 appearances whilst on loan at Rotherham. A step below now though, the Englishman will be looking to find some goalscoring form in the third tier of English football.
