Leicester City are ready to make a late swoop for Crystal Palace striker Dwight Gayle, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

Gayle is widely expected to leave Selhurst Park on deadline day and it was believed that Swansea City were on the verge of securing the services of the former Peterborough United star.

Now according to recent reports, it has been revealed that even the Foxes have joined in the race to sign Gayle and are ready to make a £7million swoop for the 25-year-old on Monday.

Claudio Ranieri has made no secret of his desire to bring in a new striker and with their pursuit of CSKA Moscow's Ahmed Musa up in the air, are being tipped to turn their attentions to Gayle who could be offloaded by Alan Pardew.
