Former Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Sammy Anim Addo, has proposed that Asamoah Gyan should be made the strikers' coach of the Black Stars.
He believes this move will help improve the attacking prowess of the national team.
Speaking to Sporty FM on Thursday, April 24, Anim Addo urged the Ghana FA and the Black Stars management committee to consider making Gyan a member of the technical team of the Black Stars.
“These boys, especially in the attack, Semenyo and co, they idolise Asamoah Gyan. So, imagine him having a session. I believe it’s time we make him the strikers' coach because we have realised that sometimes the goals will not be coming, and the world of football is changing. A lot of clubs now have strikers’ coaches. So I will use this platform to plead with the authorities, the Ministries, the FA leadership, and Dr. Randy Abbey,” Anim Addo said.
Asamoah Gyan, 39, is Ghana’s all-time goal scorer with 51 goals for the Black Stars.
The former captain of the Black Stars is currently retired but holds a deep passion for the national team.
