Liberty coach George Lamptey says his side deserved to lose to Asante Kotoko on Saturday in the Ghana Premier League.

The Scientific Soccer Lads were undone by a Michael Akuffo 35th minute free-kick at the Baba Yara Stadium.

But Liberty were not outclassed by the defending league champions.

Lead striker and the club's top scorer Michael Appiah missed scoring opportunities to at least earn a draw for the visitors.

Lamptey admitted his side were second best against the league leaders.

"They were experienced more than my players. Immaturity was killing my boys but this is Liberty. I will keep on pushing them and they will come up," he said.

Liberty have now suffered three defeats in five away matches.
