Liberty Professionals coach J.E Sarpong is full of praise for his team following Sunday’s win on Premier League opening day.

The Dansoman-based club recorded a hard-fought 2-1 home win over the 2010 league champions Aduana Stars after a tough pre-season which included the unfortunate death of their inspirational President Alhaji Sly Tetteh.

But Coach Sarpong believes the ‘premeditated’ win forms a solid platform for his side to spring to greater heights this season though not getting carried away by the result.

“It was a very difficult game for us especially after what happened to us during pre-season but thanks to proper planning, strategy and commitment of my players we were able to pick all three points,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“Football is full of uncertainties and we know we are going to face stiffer oppositions as the league wears on so we are not over excited by this result.”

The Scientific Soccer Lad as they are affectionately called, travel to battle reigning league champions Berekum Chelsea in their next league encounter on Sunday.
