Liberty Professionals captain Michael Helebge claims their campaign in the top-flight has been re-ignited after a deserved 2-0 win over Hearts of Oak on Sunday night.

James Abban was the star of the show as he grabbed a brace in the city derby as a ten-man Hearts were left disenchanted.

The game was shifted to the Accra Sports stadium due to television demands but the Phobians failed to make turf advantage count.

A well-drilled Liberty side dictated the pace of the game and eventually picked the points.

The 20-time League champions lacked the self confidence as they were kept on the periphery.

Helegbe takes delight in the win and insists the victory will spur them on to their ambitions this term.

He told GHANAsoccernet.com: "This is a very important win for us and I believe after picking maximum points against Hearts, we can't look back."

"I believe it a morale lifting victory for us since we will be buoyed by such an impressive performance against one of the biggest clubs in the country.

"We were determined and I’m happy we managed to end with the sweet victory."

The ex-Ghana Olympic team captain has rediscovered his form as he continue to churn out impressive performances for the side week-in- and week out.
