Ghana midfielder Rahim Ayew will be released by SK Lierse at the end of the current campaign, the Belgian club has announced.
The 24-year-old alongside two others; Hussien Yasser and Soufiane Bidaoui will not have their contracts renewed when they run out at the end of the season.
"Ibrahim Ayew, Hussein Yasser and Soufiane Bidaoui will no longer play a part at Lierse,†the club has announced.
“Contracts of these three players that will expire this season will not be renewed, so they no longer qualify for the squad.â€
The news comes as a bit of a surprise as Rahim was warming his way back to top form following his recovery from a series of injuries.
The three players being talked of have played a total of 53 games between them this season with the eldest son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele playing 17 times.
