According to reports from French outlet RMC Sport, Chelsea were ready to offer no less than €100m for Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Marquinhos. The Brazilian, who is an integral part of the Parisian club, was a wanted man at Chelsea – the same club his long-time ex-teammate Thiago Silva moved to.
Apparently, a Marquinhos-Silva duo was imagined at the back for Tuchel’s side. The detail has emerged after Antonio Rudiger is set to leave the Blues at the end of the current season as his contract with them expires.
However, it was PSG who made him unavailable and the player himself, who wanted to stay.
