Mauricio Pochettino explained Lionel Messi's absence from Paris Saint-Germain training on Thursday during his news conference ahead of tomorrow's match against Lille.
The Argentine said to L'Équipe that his compatriot had developed a muscle issue despite training as usual during the week and that he had an individual session today.
“After the match against Marseille, he trained normally. Today [Thursday], he had a muscle issue, he had an individual training session. We’ll see tomorrow if he can be ready [for the match].”
Messi joined Paris Saint-Germain, a French club, on August 10th. He agreed to a two-year contract that will last through June 2023, with an option for a third year. Messi chose 30 as his squad number, the same as when he made his senior debut for Barcelona as a teenager.
